I've just changed the picture since there was a bit of a conflict with another unsolved puzzle!

resp. XXB 742 Nordec ...

The was the original demonstrator used by Nordec (and TWM) and had an aluminium body made at Maurice Gomm's workshops in Byfleet with some help from Clive. It was also Clive's personal transport for a while. Since it was the demonstrator it was highly detailed and was fully trimmed and had grey leather upholstery and matching leather dashboard (including the binnacle). The car had BMC running gear and a standard BMC A-series Sprite engine.

The body was used to make both sets of moulds (for Nordec and TWM). Strictly speaking, this is actually a Convair Excell as it was made while Convair was still running. It was used in all the advertising photographs for Nordec and TWM and was sold to a customer through Nordec once Convair had ceased trading. The car was Cherry Red.

That was where I took that pic from.
I was going to read it all for further, but in the same site, the quiz car is shown in a TWM ads from 1960...
I think we are all right!  ;D

And that is the name I was looking for..
So I've given Quiller a point because he mentioned the Excell in his reply whilst PJ didn't..
Is that fair?  Are you happy with that PJ?

Well, the nature of this car is not that obvious.
I posted the 'TWM' reply because I recognized it, then I get to the site to check.
Quiller was there too, but the puzzle was moved yesterday!
Allemano reply is even more accurate, but once again, when all the cards are on the table, it's not too hard find the details.
It happened before (BMW-Martini) and usually it's the puzzler's call.
The site itself reports that the same car was called in either ways...but we had to find the name you have and Quiller did it.  ;)

I don't claim any point. I once saw this car as well, but wasn't able to find it again.
After PJ gave the probably right answer I've checked it and found some more infos, that's all!

BTW: the Martini-BMW issue was a bit different as I offered an additional point and everybody got the chance to get it for quite a long time...
