What the name of this car and when was it built?

woodinsight

Difficult for a Rookie and perhaps also for an Expert - let's see

D-type

is this an original car or a modern re-creation/ replica/ tribute car?
Duncan Rollo

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

woodinsight

I'm glad you asked that otherwise you would spend lots of time fruitlessly searching for it
It is a modern hand built car that doesn't particularly copy any known marque
Apparently two were built

Sorry Giles, all I know this was a hand-built car but if it was based on any other car I don't know.

woodinsight

I would also like to know what the story is behind this car.

I'll probably give it away by giving the following clue -

Politely one could say 'Taxi, Mr. Dennis?

or in a more informal manner one could say .....................?

gilescooperuk

Well that would be Cab ....... The significance of Mr Dennis escapes me at the moment thought. Is Dennis a first name or Surname?

Interests in life:  Cars, cars, cars - oh and ..er..cars

woodinsight

That's the name!

I really don't know much about this car - only that it appeared in a magazine advert which stated it was a handbuilt vintage style car built in 1989 by Cabron Ltd. It also stated the 2 were built.

woodinsight

Sorry Giles, Carnut just beat you to it.

DeAutogids

It is supposed to be a Bugatt-replica.
It was advertised as such: https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1009473
