Solved - MJW #085 - Corsair built by Arthur Ramsey 1948/49

This one might be a bit more difficult!
What was it called and the year it was built.
I might add another point if you can tell me which car it was based on and what engine it used plus who built it.

I'll throw a guess out there...it looks like it's based on a Morgan Plus Four with a Triumph TR2 engine.

Good guess Aaron but it's much earlier than what you suggested.
However, don't despair there is a Triumph element there!

All I can think of when I look at this is AC Buckland.... is it just an illusion?

It does look very similar doesn't it.
The car was built a year after the AC Buckland was introduced.
The chassis and engine though are not connected to this car.

I think this is the one-off Corsair built by Standard-Triumph engineer, Arthur Ramsay. If so, it was built in 1948/49 and was based on a Triumph Renown chassis. It also featured a tweaked Standard Vanguard engine and aluminium bodywork made by a firm in Coventry whose name escapes me.

Excellent!
I thought this one was heading for the Black Hole but your answer is absolutely correct.
I don't know who constructed the body either.
One point plus another for your full reply.
