Time to give away some points. You know the drill - tell me the name of the car pictured below and you'll be awarded a  point  :)

You're an Expert now hondast, so you'll have to wait with guessing until (if) this puzzle reaches the Expert board ;)

Yep, that's it. Here's your point :)

This unique AC 3000 ME was an attempt to introduce the car to USA in 1981. Steve Hitter and Barry Gale (who earlier imported De Tomaso Panteras to US) had an idea to buy 3000 MEs without engine and drivetrain (through AC's Belgian importer), ship them to US and fit with American parts. GM wasn't interested, so they asked Carroll Shelby to put in a Chrysler turbo engine and present it to Lee Iaccoca as AC Shelby Chrysler. However, Iaccoca was then in the middle of reinventing Chrysler through the K-Car and didn't like the idea of a low-volume mid-engined sports car. Thus, only one example was ever made, which still exists fortunately.

Can't say I agree, I think the AC was a very handsome car (in the right colour scheme). To me this looks like a knock-off kit car. Horses for courses eh?

Quite.  I do like the original, it's a great design; I just prefer the non-fancy wheelarches!
