The name I'm getting for that particular Ford Mustang is "Eleanor" , a replica of the one used in the film "Gone in 60 seconds"

You're right that this is sort of a replica of Eleanor, but do you know its make and model name?  Locked to you for 24 hours.

A sort of replica??  ???

From what I can figure out, there are several replicas of the 12 initial cars built for the movie by CVS, some of which are sold as turn-key cars, but how could you tell one from the other?
Is it a Thalon, or the one sold by Trinity, or do Rousch do one? I don't think I could tell the difference, sorry.
Don't bother locking this, I don't think I'll be able to identify this specific example. :(

Thanks for your honesty Studebaker Hawk, as it's not one of the replicas you mentioned.  So, back open to all Rookies.

Not as fortunate as you might think when you discover what is under the hood/bonnet!

Hmm, this is a tricky one.

The good news is that you are correct as it is the Ford Sierra-based Mill Auto Conversions EM500R made in the UK.

However, the bad news is that this puzzle is still in the Rookies section, and as you are an Expert with more than 20 points, you shouldn't be able to answer a Rookie puzzle!

So, perhaps the AutoPuzzle elders can advise what to do now, as I don't think I can award you the point, unless Admin says otherwise.  I shall move the puzzle into solved, but Admin advice needed please..  ???

You are correct - DeAutogids.nl should not have posted his answer in the Rookies section. Since the cat is out of the bag, let's leave it in solved, and with no point awarded.

At the gateway to the Rookie's section is posted this:

Quote
The Rookie Puzzles board is open to ALL non-expert and non-professional level AutoPuzzlers.  If you solve 20 puzzles here at AutoPuzzles.com you too will join the ranks of the Expert AutoPuzzlers and receive the coveted two blue stars in your posts and your name in blue in the Users Online section of the board.  While you are a Rookie, you are eligible to answer puzzles in the Rookie, Expert or the Professional sections of the board.  You may not post your own puzzles, however, until you either become an Expert or contribute an article to the website and become a Feature Writer.  Upon entering the Expert ranks, you will no longer be eligible to answer Rookie puzzles until they are moved to the Expert section of AutoPuzzles.com.   There are also a few other perks for the Experts and the Pros.  Perhaps you will discover them for yourself.

Happy Puzzling!

We can assume new members read the rules, but even those who know the rules are sometimes overcome with enthusiasm. For this first offinse, I'll adminster only this scolding: DeAutogids.nl, go to your room and think about what you have done, and don't ever do it again.

I think I know what happened.

Before yesterday, I could not reply to the rookies section.
Apparently, I got a new "status" or whatever you call it. As a result I could reply.
I presumed because I could reply the puzzle had been moved.

Gives to show I need to check things on the board a bit better.

My apologies.
