Please can you name this car for one point. Thanks.
-
Hmm, maybe it's time for the Expert touch on this one. Any ideas?
-
Citroen 2CV by Dagonet maybe?
-
I can fully understand your thinking, but sadly no, it's not a 2CV Dagonet!

But based on the 2CV?
-
I knew I'd seen this before, and indeed my first idea was Dagonet... It took several hours and I guess some 200 magazines before I found it back in the 2nd issue of Rétroviseur (October 1988): it's a 'chop top' made by Jacques Schwab in Fontainebleau. Of course theis one-off is based on a Citroën 2CV. Very nice ::)

Yes, great styling.

Good work DynaMike; for 200+ hours of magazine research, I feel rather mean only awarding you one point, but sadly only one point was on offer. It is most definately the delightful Jacques Schwab special, based of course on the Ferrari F5.....oh, I mean, the 2CV!!!

;D No worries, not 20+ hours... But thanks anyway. It's really nice to see this beauty here :)

When was it built? Any more pics?
-
The license plate dates from 1957. That was also the first year if the AZL version of the 2CV, with the aluminium strip on the bonnet. So pretty sure it was built in that year. In the above mentioned magazine is the same picture as shown here, plus another picture of the car seen fron the right side, and behind it a normal 2CV (though with these special rims, some striping and a lighter bumper. On that picture one can see how much the profile of the car has changed. Also interesting: the doors on the left side have got handles, the doors on the right side don't; these are only to be opened from the inside.

Ah, niiice! Thanks Mike!

Give me a few days and I will find some other pictures that I have at home on this car.

I'll appreciate that very much!
-

-
Just its proper grille.

Here's a (slightly distorted) picture of the above mentioned picture:
