Please respond below if you know the make and model designation of this car.
One point for the right and complete answer!

On this car I have a little problem. I don't know if the name the source gives me is quite the right one.
I couldn't find it on any other common source.

Well, it certainly is remarkably similar to one of the three Jaguar XK150’s Franco Scaglione did for Bertone in 1957. Considering that the most famous unit of the bunch (the red one) is a little different from the (currently unaccounted for) black one which I’ve seen but a single picture of, I’m inclined to think that yours might be the third example (the whereabouts of which are also apparently unknown).

Of course, I’m taking it into consideration that this might be a mere iteration of that design for, say, Fiat or Abarth but… I like to think that Scaglione wouldn’t repeat himself as unabashedly as Savonuzzi did with his Supersonic design for Ghia (as worthy of cloning as it was).

I strongly believe that you're right, though I don't know it for sure.  :-\
The other two Jaguars XK 150 are indeed different in some details. The red example has big vents in the front fenders while the black one has a curved indentation behind the front wheels. I just recognized later that the puzzle car has a slightly different C-pillar.
To spill the beans: my source labeled this car as '1960 Bertone Aston Martin DB4' which appears to me defintely wrong.
It's very unlikely, but as you've said it could be a design which was used for different cars. On the other hand I guess it would have been already unearthed by common Aston Martin sources.

I give you a point for your guess, but leave it open for any other suggestion.

Ah, so it wasn’t exactly as tricky as I feared it might be. What about the script over the front lateral ridge (if that’s what it’s called) which you initially edited out though? It looks like it’s composed of 6 characters in the 2nd example. Does it say ‘Jaguar’ by any chance?  :) Then there’s the (seemingly) shared emblem over the edge of the rear lateral ridge (which, by the way, doesn’t appear to have been implemented in the other two units).

Regarding the ‘1960 Aston Martin DB4’ theory, I’m not buying it either. Considering that what can roughly be seen as a variant of the design – the 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 Berlinetta (# LML/765) – was introduced a good few years earlier, I’d speculate that repeating the idea in 1960 might’ve felt a bit anachronistic. And it won’t hurt to add that Scaglione left Bertone in 1959.

That being said, some further confirmation would be most welcome.  :)

I reckon you're right regarding the J·A·G·U·A·R emblem, but I do not have a higher resolution pic.

Another good point to strenghten our position is this pic of the (definite 1957 if not earlier!) DB 2/4 Berlinetta by Bertone which was obviousely shot on the same occasion.

I did some detective work recently for a story about the Bertone XK150.

The car shown on the first picture is in fact Bertone's second XK150 of three. It was shown on the Turin show in 1958, was right hind driven and originally came in a special metallic maroon shade. The car was built on request of well-known Jaguar-dealer John Coombs, who commissioned it for one of his customers: Anthony Strickland Hubbard - a Woolworths heir who’d wanted something extraordinary. It came with some subtle changes from the first, black, car as it now missed the 'scallops' in the front wings, had thinner bumpers, chrome around its rear wheel arches too, and two instead of three wipers. The car was registered ‘953 HPH’ on 1 January 1959.

Hubbard is said to have driven the car only a few months before selling it to London based architect Michael Lyell who had it painted silver grey and registered '6 APC'. In the 1960’s it could often be seen at British Jaguar club outings with that registration, but it was sold off later to a mister Peter Ralph (a golfing friend of Lyell) and its current whereabouts are unknown.
I got in touch with one of the architect's sons who thinks it may be in France though, but only has that information from a rumour.
He sent me some lovely pictures of the car taken in 1964. Apparantly there were more shots with his sister in it too, but she has refused to let anyone see them as it shows a hair style she's very much annoyed of now!

Of all three cars only the third and last (the only 'S') is known. Or at least, to me.

Oh, and believe it or not, but the 'seemingly shared emblem over the edge of the rear lateral ridge' says 'XKE' in a nice italic brass script.
That's some years before before jaguar unveiled their XKE...
The third (red) car does have this emblem too.

For any collectors like myself:

I would've already jumped on that it I had an actual address.

A few nights, almost yeah. Everything's completely temporary atm, which is a very strange period to go through, very frustrating when things like this pop up.

Okay, now I finally have a good excuse to ask a real stupid question:
How do I do it?!
I have tried before, but so far without success.
