The Corsair was GM's rear-engined dream car.  Designed, in part, to compete with the Tucker automobile that was not to be...

It was the cover story for Mechanix Illustrated, April 1949...



It also fit George Walker's 1942-44 description of what your post-war car will look like, as published in:

BETTER LIVING IN THE POSTWAR WORLD
