I would need to see a particular issue of Automobile Quarterly, which featured a very lengthy and detailed history of Borgward. If someone else gets there first, then be it :)

Though I'm not sure if it really was an internal project name or if it got that name later...

I guess the pics are from ~1952, so the Export-Wagen was in use for a longer time than I would have expected.
