That's just it, and #5 is Paul Kelly, maybe the only actor convicted of manslaughter, who went to jail, did his time, then resumed his career.

Movie No1: Blue Comet, Driver no3: Virginia Vale
Movie No4: Spinout but the actor is Buddy Baker (Driver No12) who appeared in Speedway - another Elvis movie
Movie No20: Checkered Flag, 1968, actor is No2 Charles G Martin
Movie No11 was Hell on wheels, starring Marty Robbins (Driver No 19) - original picture featured Larry Shankle, John Sears, and Marty Robbins

which leaves us with Fabian (Driver No11) and one of his racing movies at Movie No14 which I assume to be Fireball 500

It's Blonde Comet, but you're forgiven
Movie No4: Spinout but the actor is Buddy Baker (Driver No12) who appeared in Speedway - another Elvis movie
Also right. A true race driver and not an actor (that was my little trick, but it didn't make you stumble).
Movie No20: Checkered Flag, 1968, actor is No2 Charles G Martin
Yessir again...
Movie No11 was Hell on wheels, starring Marty Robbins (Driver No 19) - original picture featured Larry Shankle, John Sears, and Marty Robbins
...and again

which leaves us with Fabian (Driver No11) and one of his racing movies at Movie No14 which I assume to be Fireball 500
Right actor, right picture, but wrong film.

We already have Fireball 500 (with Fabian on the poster I attached) but I wouldn't use the same film twice.
Locked for you 48 hours... Then it's all solved.

then I think movie No14 is Thunder Alley from 1967 and the blonde gal is Diane McBain. I found a tiny color version of the pic you posted.

You almost rounded 'em up all by yourself, cowboy! Amazing. :applause:

I don't know about the girl, but it's Thunder Alley all right. Until I make the points count, I counted the words that came up most often in these 21 titles. Imagination is at large I must say. We have 3 Devils and 1 Hell, 4 Thunder, 4 Speed (alone or in composite words). So religion, natural elements and man made technology are equally honored.
As for the poster it usually requires:
1- A terrific car crash, with cars flying in the air and pilots thrown out.
2- A girl, a kiss, or a fist fight ((exclusively between pilots), or all of this.
The tracks are often suggested, and ovals, but cars are drawn at such an angle that they can be shown on a straight track if the layout requires it, like in this last example.

This puzzle got me interested in these movies. I've only seen some Elvis flicks on TCM but not one of these

Driver #7 Will Hutchins / Movie #9 Spinout

Sorry, Otto. As I had guessed it's a no, twice.

Driver #18 is a certain Mr. Brett Halsey, starring in the movie #3 Speed Crazy.

But this is perfectly right, Grob'.
I love the poster with the girl so stiff that her shorts seem to be molded in concrete.

A better view of the poster and girl
