The car this estate is based on should be easy.
However to gain a point you have to tell me the name of the man who converted it and when.

Lotus Elan +2 Estate, built by Pete Richie... in the mid 80s i think, i'll have to dig a little for the exact year

You are correct of course. I believe he started to convert the car in 1980 and completed it in 1984.

I was lucky, this has been featured very briefly at least 3 times in magazines since it was built, I had forgotten the name of the builder but I was fortunate that the first pile of mags I looked at contained the answer.

That is lucky.
I tend to do the same - search magazines rather than the internet first. Then try to find images on-line.
I still find published material the best over the internet any day! But I'm an older guy who grew up without such things as computers, e-mail, mobile phones, etc. A different world!

Where do you guys find the time?!
I must have thousands of car mags and I wouldn't even know where to start with most of these puzzles!
It would take a month to search through them all each time!

like I say, luck! Lots of my magazines are actually holding up my bed, so those are off-limits anyway!
