It seems to be one of the Edwards prototypes Paul Jaray has posted today.. (or at least which had inspired the later Edwards America)

Related? It's no question to me. It is the first Edwards sportster of 1949 shown in the SIA article posted by Paul Jaray, with its hardtop on. The car Paul shows is a roadster, but the article says "the car was a 4-seater roadster with removable hardtop and windshield"
There only other fifference is that on the puzzle photo, there are bumper guards on the bumper.
To me, Allemano did it (maybe Paul had forgotten this one).

I think we should change the title to 1949 Edwards R-26.

I don't.
I think that "26" is only the number the  car carried in a race (see the helmet on the driver) or similar event.
If you arefully read the SIA article about the car in ther topic to which the link is given above, you see no mention of that name, R26, in the text. But you do find a picture of the car with a "26" on its side and an helmeted driver in what is probably the same event.
http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=9320.0;topicseen

EDIT: I am both right, and wrong. R-26 seems never to have been an official name, but this very important car is consistently called that in a forgotten Fiberglass article (where Carnut found his picture I guess).
See below.

I've just got my sciolism from a well known source about fiberglass cars which uses that designation « R-26 » for various Edwards sport cars.. (R-26 -> R-62)
You're right, that original article from 1950 doesn't mention « R-26 », but at least it's better known under this name today.

Ahh, I see you've edited your last post.  :shiner:
