Calico

That's not the name I have for it - where did you get the name?

Calico

It was just a wild guess, or at least what i thought it was called. I think i've seen a pic of it long time ago, but i can remember the brand name, just thought the model was called something along Calico.

It is indeed British, not sure if it was ever a kit car though

I can't place it myself yet - but...

The front lights are from a Corsa so it must be post 1993 (knocks the timeframe down to the last 15 years)

Not sure if it is front or rear engined - I would guess rear due to the air scoops on the sides

Not MGF or MR2 based as the exhaust is wrong.

run out of ideas now??????????

I don't know for sure what the basis is, but I think it might be Ford Fiesta

Well it's not a quantum or at least not one of the model I know of or a Jester, Hoppa or sunrunner

So if it is a kitcar then it certainly isn't a current model....

I saw this car at the Detling kit car show c.2005, but can't for the life of me remember what it was called.  Calico is close to its name, if I recall, and it was front engined/front drive on a Ford Fiesta base if my failing memory serves me well (which clearly it doesn't!).

It looks very similar to a Midtec Calico - which also had Corsa lights at the front (and at the rear - as opposed to this car's Peugeot 306 cabrio tail lights).

Something - and it may only be the voices in my head - is telling me that this was made by a UK kit car manufacturer better known for something completely different. Possibly a company like GTD?

I'm please that CKC thinks it's a Midtec Calico too, as that's exactly what I thought it was, but I can't find any reference material anywhere to prove it, despite knowing I have a leaflet for it somewhere gathering dust!
