Hi All:
Well, my first post on my first day and I am bringing this one back from the dead if that is allowed.
For the past 10 years or so, I have been doing ID work on several military history forums which is an Internet offshoot of my sort of doing the same thing for authors of books on military wheeled vehicles of all nations 1935-1945 for a number of years before that.
Anyway the subject Fiat appeared on a German site, posted by a Frenchman a few days ago. I spent 6 hours going through my book, catalog and photo collection, the thousands of photos I have gotten off the internet and not a little Googling.
I finally got a hit on Wiki dealing with Italian coachbuilders and followed some of the links dealing with Pininfarina who did a lot of this type of body. That lead to a sublink and there was a photo of the puzzle car with a caption saying that Pininfarina, Boneschi and Garavani did bodies on the Fiat 1500 chassis and of all things, the photo they chose was Garavani's body.
That lead to some more Googling and I found maybe 6-8 photos of this same car at a couple of auto shows in Italy. One source, the magazine Gazoline, says it was a one off which is kind of neat.
Anyway, here is the photo I started with which shows the same car in the late war years in the Italian Tyrol in the tender care of the military. I am now trying to track down the present owner, the photos were all from around 2010, in hopes of providing him or her an emailed copy of this WW2 photo. I think they would enjoy it.
If any of you can help finding the owner, please jump right in.
Nice Forum you have here, I hope I can contribute over time.
Edit: Sorry, every forum is different, I will resize photos next post.
Cheers
