So do you give in then?
Shall I give mymokke his chance?
This is your last chance then I'll throw it open again.  You have done most of the work but just not quite enough..

This puzzle is 95% solved but 'm just looking for its full proper name.
Surely there's a Pro who'll know it?

Alfa Romeo 2000 Sole e Luce by Bertone is probably the answer you are looking for.
And you probably found this name in the book 'The Automotive Art of Bertone' by Rob de la Rive Box.

But I think it is called only 'Sole', the 'Granluce' was another Alfa Romeo 2000 based Bertone model that was presented at the same 1959 Geneva motor show.

This particular Autopuzzle is the 'Phase 2' of the Sole which received a modified front compared to the Phase 1 (only 1 car was made)
This phase 2 was presented on the 41th Turin motor show held  during 31/10-11/11/1959.

It was indeed designed by Scaglione, although I'm not sure if he is also reponsable for the Phase 2 modifications.

I note what you say and that is one of my sources.
But I also have a picture of this car from a completely different source which also calls it the 'Sole e Luce' (Sun and Light) and in fact I cannot find it referred to in any book simply as 'Sole'.  I noticed the similarity of the 'Grandluce' name too and wondered if someone had got confused, hence my full search which still did not bring me the result of simply the 'Sole' name.

All the rest is exactly as I have it too, so I'm going to award you the point for giving all the full information I am looking for, even if you think some of it is not right!

Here is the pic from my other source (i.e. not the Rob de la Rive Box Bertone book) together with its description:

That is what I know too...the 2 cars are featured in Quattroruote #40 (May 1959) with 2 names Sole for one and Granluce for the other. In that source there is also another mistake: in Italian should be "Sole e Luce" (Sun and Light) but "Sole č Luce" is totally different (Sun is light) and "Sole é Luce" is plain wrong.

This car was for sale in 1971 (by its private owner and called 'Alfa Romeo 2000 Sole') at 100.000 Lire, when the price of a 500 was 575.000 Lire!
