Die Valkyrie, desing by Brook Stevens and built by Spohn?
That is indeed the car.
It was built at the behest of Cleveland real-estate baron Mr Metzenbaum, who wanted the luxury of the Lincoln Continental with the power of the ohv 331 cu in Cadillac V8. The design was Stevens's first use of the "Washington Coach Line", the upsweep which concealed the long doors and provided a natural line for the two-tone finish.
The car was, as you say, built by Spohn in Germany, and was shown at the Paris Show in 1953. Six cars were eventually built, with three of them going to the US and I suppose the others staying in Europe, but it would be a brave person driving a car like that around in Europe in 1953!
