Detroit is not generally considered to be on the East coast, though it is in the US Eastern time zone.

The car was built in a state on the East coast of the US.

My apologies. Upon further research, I confirmed this car was not built in an East-coast US city. My first source was incorrect.

Still not from Detroit or Michigan, however
