OP's Name That Tail Light #1 Corvair and Chaparral 2C
« on: February 11, 2010, 04:29:40 AM »
In the spirit of gilescooperuk's 'light problem' puzzles, here's one for the the middle-age folks here, and the fans of older cars. I hope GC is OK with me riding his coat tails.

Please, respond below and share your knowledge about what two automobiles used this tail light.
As always, detailed answers are greatly appreciated by all.
If you haven't registered yet, you need to do so in order to reply.  You can do so by clicking here.

Also, please be sure to check out our other puzzles, and, please post a puzzle of your own if you'd like - the more, the merrier. :D

Thanks!

It's a GM product. Either that, or a lens for a boat trailer!   :P

No. The two vehicles I'm looking for are very different from each other, one from a huge manufacturer, another from a very low-volume constructor.

Not a Corvette taillight. The "other" car is a race car, however.

There is not a Pro here who would not instantly recognize both of the cars in question.

The other car is the MDA MkII GT40.

it seems to be still a work in progress, powered by Ford 454 ci, with apparently a fiberglass body, and built by a fellow name Craig.

While some of our members are kit-car mavens, that answer doesn't jibe with "There is not a Pro here who would not instantly recognize both of the cars in question".

I think that Corvair taillight was used on the '67 Ford Mark IV GT40...

It seems this unit was on a few different race cars. Still not the one I'm after, though
