It's a toss up between L or M types.
It doesn't look long enough to be an L type therefore I'll plump for an M.1
The car dates from 1949.

I'm going to be honest...I think my source is wrong.  It says it's a K2, but I don't think it is.  I believe you were right with K1.  Sorry for the mixup...point's yours!
