Experts?

Thats a beautiful old English wheel ( what the Brits call a Wheeling Machine ) on the right in the pic.
So it must have been at the Coachbuilders that made it...

It would be more correct to describe them as an engineering company. They would perhaps be better known for their work on aircraft rather than cars, although they did work on both.

bristol?
-
oh wait its not the bristols were a lot rounder
the aircraft thing just sounded right
-
is this an Armstrong Siddeley?

Sorry, but I missed this post earlier.
No Bristol connection at all. Although this company did work in the aeronautical sphere it did not, as far as I know, build aeroplanes, just parts of aeroplanes.

There is a resemblance but, no, it isn't, although there is a link between one of the engineers involved in this project and Armstrong Siddeley.

If I'm allowed to guess, I have it as 1938 Templewood Light Alloy.

Right you are!
The above photograph of the body, taken by Stewart Tresilian, was made available by kind permission of his family.

Apologies for the late confirmation but, yes, that's exactly what it is.
