The experts don't want it, the pros can have it.

The guy looks like Michael Sedgwick. Venue looks like a London-Brighton run. But I have no idea about the car - yet

To tell you the truth, I don't know much about these ancestors, but I've seen many with that kind of stuff in front.

Hi,

This looks like a steamer. Regs in the UK required stamers to be fitted with condensers. Lots of steamners about at the time but doubt it is an early Stanley or Locomobile or Mobile?

Regards

Vintman

You say that it is not a Santler, but it looks exactly like a Santler, down to its radiator, seats, wheels, tires, fenders and overall shape. Hmmmmm, if it's not a Santler, then someone built a rather exact replica.

I agree with pnegyesi: the 1894 Santler Malvernia was one car developed over several years by the Santlers. It was restored in its final form by Dr Alan Sutton and the photos below were those used by the auctioneer when it was sold on in 2001

Oops!
I can't keep to many information on my puzzle cars, if I don't want to get lost in my files, but I did have it as "1898(1894?Malvernia by Charles&Walter Santler".
Who knows why, I only remembered the Malvernia part and gave a no to neilshouse guess. Of course his answer was right, even if incomplete and wrong about the year.

Since I should have locked it for him, he deserved he point. Another goes to Allan who gave us the comlete name and year, plus pictures.

So kind!
I know Alan Sutton (who restored it) quite well - he even went to the trouble of getting period machine tools so that the result would be authentic! Sadly after he sold it, it is now in a museum or some sort of collection and doesn't get out on the roads any more.
