I have a source that calls it a 1950 Keller "2.6 litre sedan", but I think "Super Chief" is a more likely model name.

You are right with the first name.
Keller did make a 'Super Chief' but this isn't it (think it has been the subject of an Auto Puzzle already).

What did it say on that little spot that you obscured? Can you post the unmodified pic?

I was going to ask it too.
If everyone agrees I will propose a new rule: after the puzzle is solved, the puzzler should post the unmodified version of it, what do you think?

I heartily agree. I often get pics of obscure cars from AP & I would like to know I'm getting the real thing.

Yes, it's a good idea and I've often thought it too.
Occasionally I have also posted other pictures of the same car from a different angle, which I think is also a good idea as the car isn't going to be featured as a puzzle again so the more views of it there are the better.
Trouble is I often can't remember where I got the picture from, but I'll have to start including the source in my notes!

I'll post a picture without the paintwork modification tomorrow (think it just said 'Keller' in tiny script...)

Here's the uncensored picture I promised; I defy anyone to read what the squiggle says!
