For one point, what car is this?
-
To the Experts.
-
A. Kuznetsov & V. Nenarokov's Zim V8 powered special sports dating from the late 1940s/early 1950s
-
You surely know where to look for it!
But it's not a car of Kuznetsov and Nenarokov (just for the sake of it, the vehicle you mentioned was built in 1957).
-
My source (1958) does not mention who actually built it.
I'll keep looking.........
-
The car has already existed back then and was already a successful one.
-
Moskvitch 404 Sport 1957?
-
Yes! Still the year for this car is 1954.
Sorry for a delay :)
-
Nice car :)
-
Same car?
Rear-end looks a little shorter but it has the same number '15' in the same place!
-
It is the same car indeed. It's not a period drawing, and to me it looks like it was based on another picture of this car, taken after its modification, but made to look like the 1954 version of the car - no cutouts instead of doors, no rollbar, different starting number. Only the rear end was left untouched - probably there was no quality picture of an early version at artist's disposal? The artist is, BTW, Alexander Zaharov - designer of Mart X-Streameast (search the forums) and Formula Rus single seater - this is one of his drawings for Za Ruljom magazine's rubric on classic Soviet cars.
-
Here's the picture I was talking about.
