No Ford connection to my best knowledge.

It was built in the early 1970´s.

No main manufacturer was involved and the engine is kind of exotic, too.

It was not a german project.
The engine is from the USA, but it uses a well known german working principle.

This car was developed for the UVDC (Urban Vehicle Design Competition) by the University of Michigan.
The competition was won by University of British Columbia (already featured here at Autopuzzles).
I just named the pics 'Urban' plus the initials of the Universities (UN - University of Nevada, UBC - University of British Columbia - UM University of Manitoba, ARD - Art School of Detroit, etc).
If they have official names, they are not reported in the article.
