Interestingly the body of the Mullen GT is based around the British Avella GTA kit car (as illustrated), but with modified front lamps.

No, the Avella came first, being launched at the Donington Kit Car Show in 2000. The Mullen is a recent debut.

In this case the Mullen came first, as I´ve seen the Mullen at the LA Auto Show in January 2000.
