This lad's well-known work can be associated with a couple of cars. Too easy? Time will tell.

You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

No, this person was directly associated with designing or building cars. He was, for a time, associated with the marketing of automobiles, via his art form.

Dang it! Typo on my part.

Should have read "No, this person was not directly associated with designing or building cars. He was, for a time, associated with the marketing of automobiles, via his art form".

No sir. This artist's renown peaked about the same time Le Corbusier passed away.

Did he painted cars resp. painted on cars?

Otto Puzzell

No. The product of his work was used to advertise cars.

Of a sort - television advertisements.

but that's not what made him famous I guess...
Is he related to film in a wider context maybe as a director/producer?

Film adaptations of his work came some time after his static works became well-known.

Maybe he first created comic characters which were animated as cartoons later? Perhaps Chuck Jones the creator of the Roadrunner?

Otto Puzzell

You're on the right track, but this artist's creations didn't inspire any specific automobile - at least, not as far as I can determine.

Also, FWIW, I think Jones' first paid work was in animation. That is not the case with the subject of this puzzle.

Bingo!

You have 24 hours to tie him to a specific car or cars, via his work. After that, I'll throw this back open to all.

The Peanuts appeared on several Ford Falcon ads between ~ 1960 - 1964

Right you are. They were also featured on ads for the complete (2 cars lines at the time) Ford lineup.
