It is a Jowett Jupiter Fiorano Special year 1952

I've awarded you the point as you have identified its base as a Jowett Jupiter as well as its 'Fiorano' name, but think it was built much later on a 1952 Jupiter base.

Franck also mentions that it was meant to be early Ferrariesque, which I do believe was the point.

And, while the thread is bumped - was there ever something like this at the time, that ran in a Le Mans 24hr?
( thought i'd seen a likeness recently...but its probably a panhard)
steven
to answer myself the att. is a Jowett R1 and i think its teammate no 45 won the index of efficiency that year, '52, and maybe a couple more ... nice subject for a replica i reckon.

I would imagine one of these was adapted by Owner Geoff McAuley to create his Jowett-based Fiorano.
It is based on a Ferrari body, of course (I'd have to check its correct nomenclature!) but it's obviously a professionally built body rather than a garden shed effort so I'm sure that's the answer.

Yes Geoff McAuley fitted this Fiorano kitcar body to a stripped 1952 Jupiter chassis. It was already a stripped chassis when he bought it. He completed the rebuild in March 2008 when it was taxed and on the road. It has no wet-weather protection and virtaually no luggage space. Geoff sold it to its present owner in June 2010 so it is no longer for sale. See my hardback book "Jowett Jupiter - Special body". Ed Nankivell
