Guys, you help is needed for this one.

This period picture shows three cars in a quite exotic place. Unfortunately I know only the year (let's say  ~+/- one year)  when this picture was taken and that place.

I am offering You a point for each correct and somewhow reasoned idenfication of these cars (well, at least two of them that are better seen)...

Thanks!  :)

I'd say 1950 or 1951
The cars are Vauxhall PA Cresta, Ford Consul Mk II and Morris Oxford all of that pair of dates.
I can't name the place, but presumably it's British Commonwealth somewhere.

I appears You are right (only the year I have is a little bit more than 10 years to add)! Thanks and well done! Three point earned.

To make it fun: let's finish with the name of the country!

The picture is taken in Sri Lanka (then called Ceylon).
So it might be a Hindustan rather than a Morris Oxford (although can't say it looks much like a Morris Oxford to me - I'll have to check that one out)

And of course both the Cresta and the Ford Consul date from MY 1958 onwards, as does the Hindustran Ambassador...

Yes it was a slip of the trypwriting - 1960-61 was what I intended.
Since Hindustan Motors built the Morris Oxford virtually unchanged as the Ambassador, you may well be right there too.
HM stuck with that version of the Morris for decades - I'm pretty sure they were still available new when I was in India in the years 1978-1982.

Not in Sri Lanka according to my source...

The first two cars are definately a Vauxhall Cresta and Ford Consul, but I'm sorry, I really don't believe the third one is a Morris Oxford.   It's a Moskvitch 407.   The rear window shape in the door is wrong for the Morris, as is the chrome decoration stripe in front of the rear wheel arch.  Compare these to the Moskvitch image below, and you can see its the same car.

I'm less certain about the location, but would guess at Malaysia.

Well, what should I do now? ??? The situation is very confusing since after a much closer look it appears the third car could really be the Moskvich. This answer would deserve another point, but the points are already added to Allan's account.

Not Malaysia.

You can subtract points as well as add points.  It's not my place to suggest you subtract a point from Allan, but you could add one to mine for the correct identification.  ;)

This is what I thought to do, but let's wait for Allan's opinion, ok?

Well here's the Ambassador that is based on the Morris Oxford series 2. I was pretty sure it's this car and not the Moskvitch but the rear corner of the door window does seem more curved and the hubcap is more Moskvitch.
Who cares about points once you've got 200 and are banished to this corner ;D

Must say I tend to agree with Djetset here.
I wasn't happy that it was the Morris Oxford/Hindustan either, as I originally said, and I actually compared it with a Volga as it somehow looked Russian to me!  It was that chrome stoneguard just ahead of the rear wheels, typically Russian, that made me think it and didn't fit in with the Morris. I should have thought of the Moskvich, of course, silly me!  Plus the curve of the rear side window wasn't right for the Morris either.

As far as location is concerned it could be India then; or it could be Nigeria but the writing doesn't look right for that..

OK, let's consider the third car to be a Moskvich thus I add one Allan's point to Djetset. I hope it is OK.

The country is still to be guessed and it is neither India nor Nigeria.

Thanks Arunas, that seem's a fair solution.  Could the location be Vietnam?
