Engesa - Engenheiros Especializados S/A was a Brazilian company in the agriculture and defense sectors that specialized in producing tactical military trucks and armored fighting vehicles, including the EE-T1 Osório, EE-3 Jararaca, EE-9 Cascavel and EE-11 Urutu, as well as civilian SUVs similar to Jeeps.[1] The company's first headquarters were located Avenida Liberdade in São Paulo. In 1975, the company moved to the Avenida Das Nações Unidas and in 1985, to a complex of 65,000m2, 26.557m2 of these in the building area in the city of Barueri. However, the main factory was located in São José dos Campos, in a complex of 200,000m2 (this property was sold to Embraer after the company's bankruptcy). The group of companies controlled by Engesa worked in various segments of the economy and exported to 37 countries, many of them being in the Middle East. In the 1980s Engasa had over 5000 employees and by 1993 had produced over 3,300 wheeled armoured vehicles for the Brazilian military and exported world wide.[2]
