By courtesy of Otto Puzzell, a Who-what-were of my own. A 2 points puzzle.

The question, as you may have guessed, is: who? what? where? Who are those two guys, what are those two cars, were and when was that picture taken.

The pic was taken in Bonneville, 1950. On the right Bill Edwards with his Caddilac powered coupe (nr. 750), on the left his friend, Jot Horne. The car in front is Alex Xydias' So-Cal Special Streamliner (nr. 2).

Thanks. That's just what the caption of the picture says.

Now that second point is worth a little more work, don't you think?
Maybe you have other details  about those cars or those guys? We like detailed answers here at Autopuzzles.

The SoCal Streamliner ran 210mph in 1950. The engine was an Edelbrock-equipped Mercury piece It was made by Alex Xydias at his SoCal Speed Shop. It ran on 40 percent nitromethane. It was the first Ford flathead-powered car over 200mph.
Jot Horne was a hot rod builder and racer, worked at Bell Auto Parts (a company making speed equipments named Cargar) in 1950. He designed the Cragar S/S wheels, and made lots of performance parts.
Big Bill Edwards had built Bob Weinberg's streamlined roadster in 1948 for the El Mirage races. He had this 1940 Ford coupe with a supercharged Cadillac engine. In 1952 it ran 145.23 mph.
