Yes it is based on the chassis of an American la France Firetruck. Locked for you 48 Hours to  tell me a more about it.

The American La France Touring Car had a 10 liter, 600 Cubic Inches, 4 Cylinder, 80HP engine with a top speed of 60MPH.  They used a Mercedes (Daimler Benz) Simplex chassis frame suitably enlarged and substantially strengthened.  In other words, massive!

I also said it was based on a American La France Firetruck chassis, has nothing to do with Mercedes.

You are right! I knew something was different about that car.
It was constructed using a 1918 Liberty V-12 Aircraft engine. One of these engines was mounted into a 1918 American-LaFrance Fire Truck chassis and an early K.R.I.T. body was installed.
