I just know the marque and the power of the engine.

I can tell you it must have been enormous for its time.

The name was not Napier and I´m not sure if it does not have some more pots...

I´m not totally sure if she is the person in the photography, but a certain Mrs. Hockenhall was involved in this project - this may help?

I think you´re right, maybe it´s two 4-in-line interconnected.

But I can tell you - this was a beast!

To the black hole?

I know this is not easy but it would be great if someone would be able to reveal its identity.

Is it not a bit young for the black hole? (though I don't have an idea either)

O.K. I´ll give the biggest hint:

the number of horsepower of this car is also its model designation. So this is the ******* XXX HP

Together with the "Hockenhall" hint you will immediately google the constructor´s name if you know the correct number of its horsepower.  ;)

The Bellamy car was quite big, 8-cyl, 38000cc, 200hp and was built in 1904.
I don't have got a pic at hand, but it seemto fit.

Did you see my 20 seconds long lasting hint?  ;)

If so or not this is the correct answer.

This is the 1904 200 HP Bellamy car, built for a certain Mrs. Hockenhall to be raced at Brooklands.

Any more information is very welcome!

To be completely honest I did not see the "Hockenhall" hint and when I saw it, I found the car.
Back on the puzzle I saw the following clue and that was a confirmation.
I think I've never saw this car before...

I´ve scanned this from an old book and had much work to find any information about this vehicle at all.

After longer research I´ve found the source we´ve both seen at google.

But that´s almost everything I know.

It would be great if anyone could contribute some more infos.

There are few lines in Burgess Wise's Encyclopedia:
BELLAMY / France 1904
Bellamy, who revived the first era of Brooklands with a failing flying vehicle, which disappeared in a race of  hot-air baloons, built this monstrous 8-cylinder car with 38,507cc for a young american lady.

I think it was built as a pure racing car, but in those days I would suggest they´ve used it on public streets, too.

I do only have the information you can read here:

I´ve found a rare 1905 detail photo of this monstrous engine:
