Not German.
This brand is not usually though of as a motorcycle manufacturer.

Peugeot is also often forgotten to have produced motor cycles, though relatively known for it. So it is a rather difficult to place tip.
You said it is not German. It looks military though.

This company did not build aircraft. The founder and president of the company was, however, an avid pilot.

I don't know who Paul Gorrell is, but you are correct. One of three prototypes (if you don't count three wheelers) built by automobile / radio / appliance manufacturer Crosley; each had a different drive and rear suspension configuration.
