That stands for 'to say'.

Do you mean "di'lo"? As for the english/italian word it forms - something to do with "armadillo" maybe? :D
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

That's a good point...the maker's name, put togheter with the model's name (written on the plate) forms a mispelled word, (to give you an idea, like Reffi and Gerator) and this mispelled word is the same in my language (Italian) or in English. The actress' name is not Italian at all, it can be english, but any search about her, returns to this pic. I'm not even sure she's an actress, but the caption under the pic says: 'Make Model' with 'model's name' and the year. :-\
You hit it!
It's not DI'LO, but the ARMADILLO guess is correct.
Locked for you till your next reply.

Then Dimmelo? I give up my right for exclusive guessing, as I'm not able to find anything relevant anywhere. Maybe someone with more sources can solve it with the modelname I provided.

Still locked for you till your next reply and here are the clues:
1) the maker's name, put togheter with the model's name forms a mispelled word, (to give you an idea, like Reffi and Gerator) and this mispelled word is the same in my language (Italian) or in English (ARMADILLO is the correct word)
2) part of the name is the italian translation of "say it", that is not 'dicalo' (we have a 'lo dica' form but it's not that), not 'dire' (that is 'to say') and not 'dimmelo' (that is correct, but is the long form of 'Say it to me').
You wrote DI'LO, but we do not have such forms (I mean with this ' between a word). You are practically there, and I thought it was just a mistype: not DI'LO but ?
(remember the final word is a mispelled ARMADILLO, like REFFIGERATOR\REFRIGERATOR, so it's very close...)

If you got the clues right, in the next reply you should be able to give me the Maker-Model answer.

Ok, but this is gonna be just guessing. Arra Dillo? Amma Dillo? There are a few more possibilities ;D

Yes, it is an Amma Dillo from 1976.
Is there anyone who have the slightest idea of what's an Amma Dillo?
I would like to find out something more on this before the final parking in the solved section.
Probably, now that we have a name, someone can find something more.
Still waiting for a reply from Mr. Baldwin. (this pic cames from his collection)

The front tag seems to read either DZD or DZO...

So, is it solved?
I noticed that I forgot to tell that You found the car and the point it's yours!
I should have write it togheter with the pic, but I forgot!
I'll move this soon and award the point, still hoping that "Amma Dillo" or the actress' name will ring a bell for someone.
