That's Major Frank Halford's Halford Special of 1925
It used an Aston Martin chassis with an engine of the Major's own design, originally turbo-supercharged (in 1925!), but later it used a roots-type blower.
Halford was the designer of a number of well-thought-of aeroplane engines including the Napier Sabre, and eventually the de Havilland H1 gas turbine that became the DH Goblin.
