Not a company, and, usually, not a Goggo/Glas tuner..I'm afraid I'm telling too much...

"Developed 1962 / 63 by Willi Martini in, CW 0.27-wagered on the 1000km race at the Nürburgring with no 41-P 1966, because the acquisition by BMW no development."
Glass Club: Mr Martini, your name is racing a concept and many interesting vehicle drafts and designs have been developed by you and realized. When came the idea to use plastic for racing?
Willi Martini: when were trained Flugzeugkonstrukteur me the benefits and dealing with plastics of course known and start of 60iger years have I based on the BMW 700 virtually the first German plastic car built. There were already some models, but was the based on the 700er chassis plastic car the first ever, as far as I know.
Glass Club: has used the car racing?
Willi Martini: yea, and we had great success. Then we thought, what should that only a hammer, if we would take this wind schlüpfrige Kunststoffkarosserie and a Mini Cooper landing gear set. So we have then for the mini developed the body and built and used the car in race. We were astonished itself as even the best frisiertesten Minis in the performance with our development mitkamen, but this was due mainly to the full aerodynamischen form of our body and the high face resistance, had the normal Minis. John Cooper itself has considered the vehicle a race and was excited. Car we had in the great successes in some race, a 1000 km race is he but then on the bridge to start of md target entrance at the Nürburgring a Ferrari been enclosed plunged from bridge on the road. Then was just a lumps.
Glass Club: how it then continued?
Willi Martini: then we developed some more cars were known and 1000 km race 1963 brought we in the class until 1600 CC 3 BMW 700 at the start and despite the large capacity distinction we took the 1, 2 and 3. . The sensation was great and it was said "have a new Abarth in Germany".
Glass Club: after this success is yes then well the company glass you hear?
Willi Martini: one day I got a call from the old Mr glass he would like to invite me to Dingolfing and durchsprechen a programme for a racing car with me. I was very surprised, am of course hingefahren. Previously was I never by a car company invited. The old glass had because in Dingolfing so a hostel, because I was accommodation as if I know God what for a high animal about. I am been served rear and front and only the best and most beautiful there. The could I watch me casual and visit everything. Yes and then we have held a meeting, first I with old Mr glass alone and then came his son of Andreasgasse and Herrlee Dompert. The contact was always better because was Mr Dompert even in the air force as fighters. We had since common experiences. The glass junior flew even to the interview was proposed and was a good atmosphere.
Then, the old men glass came out then with the idea, I should develop a full aerodynamisches car for him and build should be used in racing. Which had in glass now Gerd Bodmer even some German Championships won.
Glass Club: how have you the respond?
Willi Martini: this developed to take very relaxed without contracts and the old glass asked what I would need because to. I said a basic chassis, so that you could use axis, engine etc possible series close. It possible to attach wanted me first a glass GT information but that did I not. I said this would be to a pity if you would zerschneiden the car and something else around knitting. Probably has the old glass over my modesty wondered, because he said again, I a GT would equal with. But so we have the base group later delivered get and then started.
Glass Club: Please look signage you the steps of development of this vehicle.
Willi Martini: we have first, as we have done that when all our constructions built Gipsmodelle. A block from plaster was made, very roughly frames made and which then covered with sackcloth. The last 5 cm was always plaster applied, shaped by hand and if was then hard, edited the plaster with tools. The model was created in the scale 1: 1.
The Gipsmodell was finished, it was sanded, painted, and then abgeleuchtet with the lamp on shadow education. If the form then was eingepaßter windscreen, because in the plaster block are front and rear window, page discs and doors with fit and if that is ready and is ready to be adopted by me is then fiberglass-plastic a negative impression made. The outer skin man then grow colder leaves and strengthens them outwards, keep stable and non-free. In the negative is then the inserted and so it has the first body then reflecting just like the first plaster block. The development of glass-RS was broadly.
Glass Club: is because in the development once someone from glass to you come?
Willi Martini: to my unfortunately no, I always thought that but time someone come, but the distance was probably too large. No, I have completely fertiggemacht the car. I got from glass everything was to required i.e. all aggregate axes projectors, instruments, emblems, etc. Only by the Panel, we have made A also plastic and equipped with original instruments, and built. That was indeed the beauty. If you aufmachte the door, could directly seen aha, is a glass.
Glass Club: what are the technical characteristics of the body?
Willi Martini: Yes there is firstly, if you view the cross-section of the photo, the origin of the aerospace clear. Must you remember, that the car ' 62 / ' 63 arose. Derived from the aircraft construction have I the Vorderfront of the body at the bottom as a reverse wing profile designed that gave the car a stronger output and thus pressure towards road. The improved the surface firmly, similar as that at the wing cars of the General years in formula 1 to the top driven was drove like on Rails to the curves. The reverse wing profile had I already at a full stromlinienförmigen 700er BMW with Kunststoffkarosserie implemented, has been tested in the wind tunnel by BMW and had the sensational CW-Wert of 0,27.
Glass Club: the rear is flown back. What is pursued this?
Willi Martini: Yes if you see the glass from the page, where rear the so-called Entenbürzel visible, you could say the forerunner of rear spoilers. This tear edge causes that the Turbulating is not so strong. The second tear edge have we in the roof designed by the rear window just 5 cm deep erlegten and einarbeiteten above ventilation slots. These slots could be used on a slider and ensured on the pull effect for an optimal ventilation because Yes hot air upwards. You had an optimal heat derivation and the whole without Windgeräusche, was so pleasant.
Glass Club: at the front wheel runs is a more unusual Linienfuehrung.
Willi Martini: Yes the Radkasten reinforcements had again a profile, better anliegend to the air flow to get. Then we have dressed the headlights with Plexiglas, I think because I was also one of the first, that have made. The page washers have we admitted to get quite smooth currents as it has been solved today at the new Audi.
Glass Club: what engine has been installed because first in the glass RS?
Willi Martini: I am not quite sure but I think it was a motor with l600 cc.
Glass Club: this cannot but incorrect be, because the GT was delivered only with ccm 1300 or 1700 engines. The car for race was because intended for what class?
Ccm Willi Martini: in the class to l600. The Bodmer has even a German championship in the class until l600 CC hazards and such a motor was drin RS well in the glass.
Glass Club: this must then a 1300 have ccm engine been?
Willi Martini: I understand that no longer, you are as well better informed.
Glass Club: on the photo of the model is an air Hutze. What did they?
Willi Martini: that hung so together that the glass engine was highly built, so was forced to integrate a Hutze in the hood. We have dressed they of course fully stromlinienform-, begins not abruptly in the middle that but already front begins with a narrow edge.
Glass Club: what was then actually was the car ready?
Willi Martini: when the car was then finished am I of course proud after Dingolfing threats, Mr glass have presented the car and wanted to ship it practically. Currently, but the transfer talks about BMW were operating, we have then both avoided, to talk has the verschungen about costs. I have Yes hundreds if not thousands working hours should be needed but credited as, it is not a sound been lost. Mr glass then made the proposal to give me the car ‚und asked whether I thus satisfied was. So we have made it then.
Glass Club: what was then from the project?
Willi Martini: after the Uebernahme of glass by BMW have I later the 1600 GT engine installed, because the was flat, I could then give up the Hutze and have modified the hood.
Glass Club: where the car was used? A photo shows him with starting numbers at the Nürburgring.
Willi Martini: Yes, this photo is a 1000km race. This is already at the Zuschauerkulisse. The car has the number 41 p, which is the class of the prototypes. He is fully threats the 1000 km race, I but no longer know who has driven it. Great successes have we had not me him, the development were indeed completed and the attraction was away after of glass by BMW.
Glass Club: was BMW to develop not interested in?
Willi Martini: no, that you see Yes alone because, that BMW to gradually expire the glass models produced after the left. If I would buy A then would I Yes also prefer my vehicles build than others.
Glass Club: then you should make but no other promises. Let but rather to a different topic. You have then started which projects?
Willi Martini: Yes, then have I for example, and that I came say without being arrogant, built the first Central engine, there from BMW. This was a 2-liter BMW engine. The car was used in 1000 km race. Documentarily I can consume, it was the first BMW, the Nürburgring-Nordschleife under 10 minutes is hazards. Only three, four years later has the Hubert HAHNE with 1800 tisa a round under 10 minutes threats and was promoted in the press that was the first round under 10 minutes. Fact is that the completely unknown driver Heiner contactor from Hagen unterbot 3 years previously on the then rented by Porsche and abgesperrten ring the 10 minutes.
Glass Club: Mr Martini, we thank your for this exciting trip in the 1960s.

Well done Mr. Jaray! Well done!  :lmao:

Hutze = scoop / air-Intake

This car is currently owned by Dr. Bernard Knöchlein (=little bone!) from Nuremburg/Germany.
