The only post-WW ll  Swiss cars I'm familiar with are Monteverdi and Enzmann, and this car is definitely NOT one of either of those...

The fact that it's LHD tends to rule ot anything British...is it French?

Not a Simca,  Monteverdi or Enzmann, nor is it French, nor a one-off. The car was indeed photographed in Switzerland.

Something about the rear reminds me of BMW 1600.

Nope. The brand is pretty mainstream, but less than 10 of this type were built.
