It is a Simca 1100, but if you look closely this one is a bit different, so know what this particular one is?

No, a greater difference than any of those Simca 1100 variants.

3 door.

I did not know they made one...

I've only seen 5 doors.

Simca made a 3-door hatch, as well as a 5-door, plus a 5-door Break (wagon) and a 3-door Break for a limited time, plus various light commercial vehicle derivatives.  It's not the fact that this is a three-door that makes this one special though.

Is it the first car with a heated rear screen?

Yes, the rear screen is large than normal.  That's what makes this Simca 1100 distinctive.  Do you know why and what this is?

Well done Franck, it is the special Pierre Cardin Simca 1100, which had a different tailgate, bumpers, wheels, colour and interior.  I'll dig out a photo of the complete car when i get back home next weekend.

Here's a bad quality but colour picture. Seems strange that images of this car are so hard to come by, it must've been exhibited at fairly high profile events in period. I guess this is the original precursor to the glut of 'designer' special edition cars in the '80s...
