Reminds of me a Rumpler or a Burney. Is it either of those?

It's the North-Lucas of about 1922. Rear mounted five-cylinder radial motor in a car which was clearly inspired by Rumpler's work.

Correct. It is the North-Lucas, which is rather hard to locate information on, but rates a mention in the following article about Gerald Palmer: http://www.nolinks.com  It is also described in Palmers autobiography, Auto Architect.

IIRC Oliver North designed lorries at Scammell, either then or later on. I think there was a Scammel project of rather the same character, but I need notice before I can look it up!

North-Lucas of about 1922. Rear mounted 1460 cc  five-cylinder radial, air cooled motor in a car which was clearly inspired by Rumpler's work, Oliver North and Colin Lucas designed. Said to have been built with Scammell of Watford involvement, but that is very dubious. Robin Hood Engineering Works in Kimpton Hill are more likely as they did work for Lucas before.

whcgt, you can stop adding those coloured dots to your puzzle pics. It hurts the eye, but doesn't prevent that Google Image Search finds the pictures as you can test with this pic.  :(
