Solved: Djetset #9 - South Korean copies
« on: January 14, 2009, 03:29:52 PM »
For a whole one point, what is the link between the four following cars, and for another point, can you tell me their alternative model names?

Sorry folks, not my day!  Another technical screw-up from a poor hotel connection. I'll re-attach the other images again, but it may have to be one-by-one.  Here's the next one.

Do I need to get the first point (for the link) before I can get the second point (for the names), or are you giving the points independently? ???

Hi.  Ideally it would be great to make the initial link first for a point before awarding additional points for the alternative model names.

Got it.  All four were manufactured in Korea, as licensed copies of the original vehicles.

Ford Festiva aka Mazda 121, also made by Kia and sold as the Kia Pride.
Honda Legend aka Acura Legend, also made under license by Daewoo and sold as the Arcadia
Mazda 808/818/Mizer/Familia, made under license by Kia and sold as the Brisa/K-303
Lotus Elan (M100), later made under license by Kia and sold as the Kia Elan.

Well done Shiftfocus, you are right.  All of these cars were assembled under licence in South Korea using the model names you've listed.  Interestingly their is also a Kia link to them all, as the Daewoo Arcadia was also sold in South Korean Kia dealerships for a short while.  A bundle of points are now heading your way.

Thanks!

BTW - you had me going on the Honda/Acura/Arcadia...this is a photo of the 3rd generation, but as far as I could tell it was only the 2nd gen that was made by Kia.  Good puzzle though.
