I'm not asking you to name cars and models because it would be quite obvious. I'm also not asking you to do the right matches between the first and the second group. The right answer is to this question: which is the connection that links each of the first group car to another of the second?
Feel free to write down the matches you guesses and I'll tell you wether they are correct or not, but consider that it will not worth you any point and, on the contrary, will help other people in finding the right answer... ;D

Second group:
-
hemi heads on all those cars?
-
No, sorry. There is a connection which links one-to-one the first and the second group.
A clue: we are not talking about mechanichs. ;)
-
Clarify, please: Each car from the first group is connected with only one car in the second group?
-
Yes: each one of the first group is linked to one (only one) of the second. Six pairs. The link is always the same; I mean: the same logic.
-
Well we have 2 Michelotti cars in the first group the BMW 700 and the Abarth 2200 Allemano..
-
I actually don't see the any Abarth in the first group... and however the connection has to be found between each car of the first with another of the second. If perhaps there is any connection among cars of the same group, it's simply by chance and meaningless for this puzzle solution.
-
No very good guesses form the Rookies, so up to Experts! ;D
-
Same designer? Like Fiat Uno (2) was designed by Giorgio Giugiaro, who also designed that ItalDesigned concept car (f)
-
2-F Correct pairing. Let's work on the connection... ;)
-
Is not about the designer?
-
In a certain way, yes... But I'm not just meaning "stylists".
At least a couple of other pairs should be quite easy and the connection is always the same. You don't need to be sure about the 6 of them before doing your guess... ;)
-
This is hard!
The 2 most obvious connections for 2-F are for me:
- 1 car designed by the father, the 2nd by the son.
- Designs coming from the same design house.
But neither of these 2 connections can be used to link other pairs. ???
-
Outstanding! The first guess and you have won the point! :applause: :applause: :applause:
Let's go through the pairs:
1-D BMW 700 by Giovanni Michelotti & Fiat Argenta by Edgardo Michelotti
2-F Fiat Uno by Giorgetto Giugiaro & Alfa-Romeo Scighera by Fabrizio Giugiaro
3-B Fiat 1100 Mille Miglia by Ugo Zagato & Alfa-Romeo SZ by Elio Zagato
4-E Fiat 1500 Cabriolet Ghia by Felice Mario Boano & Fiat 850 Coupé by Gian Paolo Boano
5-C Chrysler 300 C by Virgil Exner & Simca Special Ghia by Virgil Exner Jr.
6-A Fiat 600 Coupé by Domenico Giannini & OTAS Tigre by Franco Giannini
Actually these people aren't exactly the designer, but they are the one who "did" somehow the car.

The Alfa Romeo SZ is not a Zagato design but a Centro Stile Fiat design (Design by Robert Opron) The Centro Stile Alfa Romeo proposal and the Zagato proposal were rejected in favour of the Centro Stile Fiat one...
I have car 3 as a Siata Gran Sport Zagato 750 cc, not as a Fiat?
-
Actually also the 2 Gianninis aren't by Giannini: the 600 is by Pietro Frua and the Tigre by Pio Manzù, but as I said I was referring to the person who "did" the car, not strictly styled it. However, you are right, for Zagato I could have chosen a better sample... :-[

Siata 750 sport zagato is correct ... not a 1100..
-
Yes: it's actually a Siata 750 based on a Fiat 500 "Topolino", not a 1100. :-[
