1946 SIlver Buick with a steel body by Bellco. Their first work AFAIK.

I doubt that it's the Silver Buick, though the name Bellco is correct of course! 1946 seems to me too early!

Do you have any other source except the one which is easily to find by googling?

BTW: I've no idea how faksta found this car!!!  :o

That website says:
"1946, Bellco produced the body for the Silver Buick (see photo), Japan's first all-steel fastback"
There's no other photo it could be. I agree the body looks post-1946 but perhaps the car was based on a 1946 Buick ...?

I wouldn't say it's obviously post 1946.

I've found it because I was looking for Bellco creations a couple days ago :p

Perhaps the other car in the photo is the Buick?

It's silver therefore it was my suspicion as well, but it's obviousely not a fastback...
Eagle prototype from 1950 would had been my first guess...

I'm afraid the other car is a 1951 Jaguar Mark VII Saloon  :-[:

I thought about that - all it says is that at some time after 1951 the car was photographed next to a Jaguar.

Could the website be misleading and this car be the 1955 one referred to rather than the 1946 one?  It looks far more 1955 than 1946 particularly as this was an era when Japanese industry  was still largely imitative.

The car could have also been slightly remastered after 1946, if it was really built then, it was a common practice.

A number of Spohn designs were commissioned and built on older chassis, making them look more contemporary. So I suspect this is a Bellco re-body done in the 1950's or 1960's.

According to an article I found, this is indeed the Eagle, built in 1950 for a CIA officer (!).
It seems to be Suzuki-related and the chassis was a tubular-frame of chrome-molybdenum steel.
Top speed was 200 km/h.
Here you are the aicle and another pic.

This is a repost but more (slightly different) information has come to light since it was posted previously.
So, what is it, who built it, when - for 1 point?:
