Looks rather Ford/Mazda-ish.

If not Australian, how about South African?

Time for a clue. Look carefully at the  front end of the car and you might recognise what it's based on

Well it looked very Mazda 323F-ish just seconds after Iīve seen it for the first time, but thatīs all I can tell about it...

I agree, I used to own a 323F and recognised it instantly. But it doesn't go with the pick-up concept. And We've been told that it isn't South African - if it hadn't been for that I would have asked if it could possibly have been some kind of a prototype for a replacement for the Mazda Rustler, a SA-only pick-up based on the previous-generation 323/Familia. But it doesn't really loke like a prototype, either.

It looks like a strange hardtop-solution. Maybe they had to add that phatass-trunk to store it there...

Maybe a british conversion?

The writing on the rear quarter looks like Coca Cola script.  Is that a cooler in the back?
