The owner is finnish but he moved to england so he could build the car (if I am to believe the article about it....) I think he was looking to move country anyway!

Yes, it's a V12 from a Jaguar XJS. Lots of other parts are used from the same donor as well - transmission, brakes, axle etc.

To paraphrase the article Giles refers to more closely, the owner wanted to see more of the world and chose the UK because it's possible to register a self-built car here.
