I've seen a few of these bike bolted to car builds but don't recognise this one.

Is it a production or one-off

Country of origin - british?

Not British, though the name might suggest different. It was named for its builder, and is a one-off.

Yes, this vehicle is from the US. Its history is well-documented on the web.

The builder participated in the design and build of a previous, unconventional AutoPuzzles subject.

This is the Norton Shrike 3 wheeler
Built some time back in 1984 by Dave Norton, a mechanical design engineer who, after a friend’s accident, decided to build something with safety as his priority. He drove this as a daily driver for several years until the original Yamaha 650 Maxim engine blew. It was restored recently (jn 2005 when the story was published on a website) but this time it has a BMW K1200RS engine in place of the old Yamaha.
