Its name is not Borgward RS 55. If you want to you can call it RS 1953. Four cars of this type were built in 1953/54 and just raced in 1953 (https://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/2013-42/sac436a-borgward-hansa-1500rs-b-porsche-glockler-550-c-renault-4cv-special-d-sca/) and 1954. Technically they were closely related to the long-tailed Borgward Hansa Sport 1500 (https://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/2013-42/mpc023-solved-borgward-sport-1500), but with a shorter body on a shorter wheelbase. They got a new Isabella-based engine for the 1954 season.

Initially without any ventilation ports in the fenders, soon a rectangular one was added. In 1954 three portholes and an exhaust outlet replaced that.
