It is a DKW, but one that had been modified for a different use than normal. Or so said the person who posted this picture elsewhere on the intraweb.

Complete shot in the dark...the radiator grill is missing so might this be an electric powered DKW?

No - it was not blocked because it didn't need flow, but to specifically prevent it.

It is a modified DKW body on a VW Schwimmwagen frame ( my source said Kubelwagen, but this one is not amphibious... ) ; this job was done by Deel, a coachbuilder from Dresden ( former East Germany )

I have it as build by a Dresden coachbuilder named Deele, although I couldn't find anything more about him, so the name may be spelt differently.
