Not sure if this is already known or not, but I thought it was obscure enough...!

This one is a bit too obscure perhaps.  Here is all I have on the "car that could swim".

Quote
It history goes back to Soviet times, the communist sixties.

It was a car that was designed and built by special Soviet car company.

It had many advanced features at that time. It had some features never being implemented in Russian cars before: the clearance could be adjusted from with dashboard buttons, like on some modern SUVs, it had a button to start an engine, instead of a key, the dashboard indicated the current gear selected etc, it had heating of rear and front windows, and the main thing - it could run float on water as well as on regular roads.

"Special Soviet Car Company" isn't very helpful.  :)  I'm not sure actually.  I thought someone might recognize it.  Maybe its just a one-off.

Oh, OK.  I thought it was just a standard puzzle that you already knew the answer to...Did you try Fishki.net? It is blocked here at work.

I didn't see anything there...that I could read. :)

But I did find this interesting, unrelated photo of Russian creativity:

If one Googles the place or origin, plus what it appears to be made from, the answer can be quickly found...

It's because it didn't have any name  ;D The car wa smade in 1970s by some Soviet engineer and is a one-off. Features the engine from Tula motoroller, which is placed behind the driver.

Well, this one won't get any more solved than it is, I suppose. What about moving it to Solved?

Faksta should get the point, if it hasn't been granted yet. What name do you both suggest?

Really?
I found an incredible list of amphibious cars, and each time I come here to compare them with this, but can't find one that matches.

In an old Russian magazine I have found a short article together with several other pictures of small experimental cars. The author of these cars is a Frenchman so I highly doubt if I should continue...

Again, isn't it time to declare it solved? As a "Russian amphibious car" or something...
