Baird-Griffin with a 1.5 Maserati engine, 1952 Eniskerry Hill Climb, Bobby Baird at the wheel :)

You're essentially right. The engine was built by Dennis Griffin and therefore I believe the Griffin part of the name refers to the engine specifically and not the car. It was however based on the Maserati engine as you said (and indeed the car used a lot of Maserati parts as well).
But anyway thats just me being picky and of course you get the point (especially since you got the location spot on as well). Well done  8)
