Art and cars #2 - Jayne Mansfield, 1966 Buick Electra 225
« on: January 05, 2009, 08:18:56 AM »
Who is she, and what car can she be associated with?

Art and cars. Painters, writers, musicians, actors, movie makers: in a nutshell, artists. Cars of special importance in their work, or in their life.
This one, being relatively easy, will be worth just 1 point. Tougher ones will be worth 2, one for the artist, one for the car.
Rules of this puzzle is: you identify the artist, you have one week to find the car. After that, the hunt is opened and anyone can rob you of your point.

If you haven't registered yet, you need to do so in order to reply with your answer.

I know, it's a monday, the first of January, and one can't ask to much. Especially when it comes to attach a image file to an Autopuyzzle post.
I'll let you guys know when the picture of this lady will be online at last.

The puzzle says Painters, writers, musicians, actors, movie makers: in a nutshell, artists. I didn't know who this Dorothy Dean was and i checked, but it appears that she was none of that (or, I'll be happy to learn what if I'm wrong).

This said, it's not Dorothy Dean, .

Not the lovely Bettie. Another kind of sex kitten.

Often, the people of "Art and cars" have a very famous face. So expect me to find photographs were they don't look too much like themselves.

Jayne Mansfield died in a crash in a 1966 Buick Electra, which was not hers.  I know she was the owner of a more flamboyant car, but I don't have it right now.

Hugo did it!
Of course it's Jayne Mansfield (the only picture of her I could find where she was not a platinum blonde.)
And the car is a 1966 Buick Electra 225. The puzzle says "...what car can she be associated with?". The car doesn't have to be hers. Here is one. I didn't pick one of the pictures of the accident. Too sad. On a clearer note, she wasn't decapitated in the crash, as the legend goes, and her three children, sitting in the back of the car, all survived.
